Our Aim
To give you a reliable high quality service which enables you to live in your own home safely and independently with regular assistance and support with your daily domiciliary home care needs as determined by your care assessment.
What is Domiciliary Home Care?
It is the assistance a care worker provides to help you with personal care or practical household tasks that you are not able to do yourself without support.
The range of tasks can include: bathing, washing, toileting, continence care, stoma & catheter care, transfers, dressing, undressing, eating, grooming, meal preparation, laundry, light housework, essential shopping, benefit collection and paying bills, dealing with correspondence, respite & overnight care, etc.
Quality
SDA has an overall rating of Good with the Care Quality Commission which monitors, inspects and regulates care services.
SDA has a rating of Good in every area of service provision i.e. Safe, Caring, Effective, Responsive and Well-led.
Southwark Adult Social Care (020 7525 2334 / 3324) contracts SDA to provide care services.
SDA enjoys a positive working relationship with the local Client Commissioning Groups (CCG) and other care and support organisations.
Referral
You can access SDA Domiciliary Care Services by requesting a referral through Social Services & Hospital Discharge Teams or by approaching us directly using a Personal Budget, Direct Payments or other funding.
SDA will normally confirm within two working hours whether or not we can provide a service which will generally start within three working days of referral.
In urgent situations a new service can start within 24 hours of referral.
An SDA manager will visit you in your own home for an introductory visit and assessment of your needs.
As part of the visit we will carry out a detailed risk assessment covering the health and safety aspects of your care requirements.
We will explain and discuss your service (care package) with you before it starts.
SDA manages its own Out of Hours service that can be accessed from 0600 to 2300 every day of the year.
Domiciliary Care Services are subject to Southwark Council Community Care Charges. (0800 358 0228)
